Robin Benzing will make his debut for s. Oliver Würzburg in the European Cup on Wednesday.The club announced on Tuesday that they are eligible to play for the newcomer.The Lower Franconians play against the Turkish club Istanbul Büyüksehir in the qualification for the FIBA Europe Cup.

“We are of course very happy that Robin can play because we need him against this strong opponent,”said coach Dirk Bauermann.

Benzing, captain of the German national team, had signed last week for three years.The 28-year-old arrived in Würzburg on Sunday evening and has been training with the team since Monday.Benzing moved from Bayern Munich to CAI Zaragoza two years ago, but did not receive a new contract from the Spaniards this summer.
