Biathlete Miriam Gössner leaves a “return to competitive sport” completely open after her baby break.I didn’t say no or yes to sport.I can’t imagine quitting right now.But I don’t want to go on, either,”said the 27-year-old in an interview with the Munich newspaper tz.
The partner of Skistar Felix Neureuther is expecting her first child soon.Gössner went on to say that she knew “that I don’t want to hand the baby over to a nursery immediately.I don’t know what else to expect.”Maybe I have a baby who’s screaming 24 hours non-stop.”
Gössner and Neureuther (33) are silent about the date of birth as well as about gender and name. The whole family is trying to “guess him.But they are all far off,”said Gössner, adding with a smile:”Whether the baby’s name is Neureuther or Gössner, we still have to discuss.”
A marriage excludes the former cross-country skier at the moment “Many people are talking to us about it.But now we’re gonna have a baby and build a house. That’s enough for now,”said Gössner.
The fact that she will be missing the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang/South Korea in February 2018 is no problem for Gössner:”Not everyone understands that. But I always wanted an early family. It was always more important to me than becoming Olympic champion.”
