Boxing:”Raging Bull” Jake LaMotta deceased

Boxing legend Jake LaMotta passed away on Tuesday at the age of 95.This was announced by his daughter Christ on Wednesday via Facebook.As his wife Denise Baker told the ABC television station, LaMotta has succumbed to the consequences of pneumonia in a nursing home in Miami.

Born Giacobbe LaMotta, the Italian-American was middleweight world champion from 1949 to 1951.

With a career statistic of 83 victories in 106 fights, LaMotta was accepted into the “Boxing Hall of Fame” in 1990.

LaMotta also achieved fame through the Hollywood filming of his life under the title “Raging Bull” in 1980, starring Robert De Niro, who was awarded an Oscar for his performance.LaMotta was married seven times and had six children.
