Cycling: Rib injury: Nibali renounces World Championship start

Vincenzo Nibali, the former Tour winner, has started at the World Championship road race in Bergen, Norway on 24th October.September canceled.The 32-year-old Italian had broken two ribs on the penultimate stage of the Vuelta on Saturday in a crash.

Nibali, who finished second in the round trip to Spain 2’15” behind the British winner Christopher Froome, is suffering from pain and breathing problems according to the “Corriere della Sera”.

Nibali is now planning to start at the Lombardy round trip on the 7th day.October.The traditional last important road race of the season was won by the “Shark of Messina” in 2015.
