Golf: Masson and Gal in Indianapolis in Top 20

German professional golfers Caroline Masson and Sandra Gal made it into the Top 20 at the US tournament in Indianapolis.

In the victory of the American Lexi Thompson (197 strokes) the Gladbeck-based Masson (207) came in 13th place, Gal (209) was 19th.

The woman from Düsseldorf had made a brilliant start with a round of 64 players, but on the following days she missed a top position with 73 and 72.

The $2.0 million three-round tournament was the dress rehearsal for the last major of the season next week in Évian-les-Bains/France.
