Golf: Masson in Ottawa good at half time

Caroline Masson continues to be in good shape a few days after the European defeat in the Solheim Cup against the USA at the half time of the US tournament in Canada’s capital Ottawa.

The 28-year-old from Gladbeck needed 70 strokes on the second day on the par-71 course and is aiming for a top spot in 16th place.Masson is only three shots behind in a narrow lead group, coming second.In the front is the South Korean Chun In Gee with 134 strokes.

Sandra Gal had no chance to cut after two rounds.The player from Düsseldorf missed the qualification for the two final rounds by seven strokes with 150 strokes.

Masson had won her singles match against Michelle Wie with 4 and 2 last weekend on the final day of the team competition after three defeats in the four-man team.Nevertheless, Europe lost out in the 15th minute.The pendant of the men’s Ryder Cup is played with 11,5:16,5 against defending champions USA.
