Austrian Judo Olympic champion Peter Seisenbacher (57), accused of serious sexual abuse of minors, has been released from his extradition detention in Ukraine.Bernhard Lehofer, its defender, told the Kronen Zeitung:”The extradition proceedings will be continued at large,”Lehofer said.
Seisenbacher, who won middleweight Olympic gold in 1984 in Los Angeles and 1988 in Seoul, was on the 19th day of the Olympic Games.In the case of the Vienna Criminal Court, the court’s first hearing was held on December 2016 without apologies and then disappeared for months.
He was then searched for by an international arrest warrant and was arrested on 1 January 2007.August in an apartment in the Ukrainian capital Kiev arrested.After the expiry of the 40-day maximum period in force in the Ukraine, Seisenbacher has now been released from custody pending extradition under certain conditions.
According to the Vienna Public Prosecutor’s Office, the 57-year-old is said to have abused two girls who were underage at the time as coaches in a Viennese Judo club between 1997 and 2004.Seisenbacher has not yet made any public statements on the accusations against him.
