NHL: Coyotes legend Doan breaks up

Shane Doan has finished his ice hockey career after 21 years in the NHL.The 40-year-old Canadian announced this in an open letter to the fans of the Arizona Coyotes.Doan was captain of the club for 13 years, but did not receive a new contract offer.

The striker had been dragged to seventh position by the Winnipeg Jets in 1995 and has been playing only for one franchise ever since.The club moved to Arizona in the 1996/97 season, where it initially ran under the name of Phoenix Coyotes, and has been called Arizona Coyotes since 2014/15.
