Olympia: DOSB welcomes Inzell’s integration in Innsbruck Olympic bid

The German Olympic Sports Federation (DOSB) has welcomed Inzell’s inclusion in the Innsbruck programme for an application for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games. The speed skating competitions are to take place in the Max-Aicher-Arena in the Upper Bavarian municipality, which was opened in 2011.

“It would be nice if the hall in Inzell, built according to international standards on the occasion of the former Munich application, could now be used for the Austrian application in terms of sustainability,”said DOSB President Alfons Hörmann in a statement on Tuesday.

“We also see this as a practical contribution to the IOC’s Agenda 2020 and neighbourly assistance among NOK colleagues,”the DOSB President explained.Agenda 2020, the landmark agenda for the International Olympic Committee (IOC), stipulates that applications for the Olympic Games are to make greater use of existing competition sites in the future in order to save costs.
