Sports policy: IOC representatives assume smooth dual awarding on Wednesday

Leading representatives of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) do not expect any surprises for the 2024 and 2028 Olympic Games to be held in Lima on Wednesday. The order that Paris will receive the 2024 games and Los Angeles will be on the ball four years later, which has been fixed for weeks, will no longer be overturned.

“These are two convincing cities that have agreed.Nothing will happen now,”Patrick Baumann told SID on Tuesday in Lima. The Swiss citizen was chairman of the IOC’s evaluation commissions and has worked intensively on both applications.

“Nothing more will happen. There were also no more problematic points in the executive talks,”said IOC Executive Director Gian Franco Kasper one day before the final award ceremony. The executive talks on Monday were apparently so uninterrupted and fruitful that the meeting on Tuesday was cancelled.
