WWE: SummerSlam: Between Destruction and Slaughter Festival

At the SummerSlam at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, Brock Lesnar was transported out of the arena on a stretcher after brutal attacks by Braun Strowman, but later returned to successfully defend his Universal Championship in the Fatal-4Way.WWE champion Jinder Mahal also defeated Shinsuke Nakamura and John Cena defeated Baron Corbin.

Winner: The Miz by Skull Crushing Final against Jordan. The match had the intention to build up two feuds and it fulfilled them. After the injury of Scott Dawson and the resulting loss of the Revival, Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas stepped in as a transitional opponent for the Hardyz, which meant a huge increase for them after months and years of insignificance.

Miz was allowed to pin Jordan a bit surprisingly, but he will face him in an IC title match soon.Since one wants to push Jason and Miz has for some time been regarded as the (extremely hard working) transition champion for the Face Flavors of the Month, a timely title change is not unlikely.

Winner & new WWE Cruiserweight Champion: Neville per Red Arrow. What Raw missed out on after losing his title in favour of the festivities of Titus Worldwide was made abundantly clear in the run-up to NXT TakeOver and the SummerSlam:”The King of the Cruiserweights was pissed off at his loss of the title.Correspondingly determined, Neville went to work in this match and worked Tozawa’s shoulder.

The new title change makes sense, as Neville has been wearing the division for quite some time. However, it is questionable how things will continue with Tozawa and Titus Worldwide. Will the title now change back and forth several times, as in Charlotte and Sasha Banks?Otherwise, Akira urgently needs a meaningful follow-on feud or a day of team push together with Apollo Crews.

Winner & new SmackDown Tag Team Champions: The Usos by Double Superfly Splash against Big E.The biggest surprise in the kick-off followed after a high class match and rewarded the Usos for their outstanding work of the last months.Unlike the Cruiserweights, multiple title changes make sense in this feud, as both teams are presented as perhaps the strongest of the WWE and at eye level.

And since SmackDown – despite all the entertainment value of the Fashion Police – doesn’t have any other team to offer that can be classified on a similar level, it seems logical to extend this feud by changing the title again.

These teams will be missing for a few months and the writers will be able to continue to write and intensify their feud in a meaningful way, and then the program will remain high class.Jimmy and Jey have more than earned this renewed title win with their outstanding work in their current gimmicks, into which they have grown excellently after starting difficulties.

Winner: John Cena by Attitude Adjustment. The missed cash in of Corbin last Tuesday received a lot of criticism, but one could have drawn something positive from it.Baron has always been portrayed rather silly and loses most of his matches due to lack of concentration, such as discussions with the referees or other distractions that his opponents have to roll up or something like that. The best example was his defeat against Mahal.

But if this would have been used to produce a much more brutal and merciless Lone Wolf, who would have handled Cena, then this portrayal would have made sense. But instead, the “skinny-fat, overrated dumpster fire”, as John was last allowed to call it on-air and what in doubt (referred to the “skinny-fat”) was a somewhat subtle clue from the management to Corbin, lost its shape.

Since there were no attacks even after the match, it is doubtful whether this feud will continue. But even if Corbin attacks Cena again at SmackDown and eventually wins a dirty victory – his momentum has been ruined.

Winner & new SmackDown Women’s Championesse: Natalya per Sharpshooter.Carmella and James Ellsworth were only backstage and Naomi lost her title anyway – it was without question one of the biggest surprises of the evening. Thus, almost seven years after her first and so far only title win Natty was finally compensated for her many years of good work and the often humiliating performance (keyword “fart gimmick”).

At the same time, however, it seems unlikely that this will remain more than just a great moment for the Queen of Hearts.A successful cash in on Tuesday or even a victory for Naomi in the re-meet appears to be much more likely than Natalya’s ability to hold the title for several months.

Winner: Big Cass per Empire Elbow.A moderately great match, in which the focus was mainly on Enzo in the cage floating above the ring.Trashtalker Skywalker eventually took off his trousers and oiled himself to fit through the bars, which he actually succeeded.

He crashed into the ring, where Cass picked him up by big boat.On a positive note, Cass was able to win the win he desperately needed for his next push. The feud against Amore will probably go on in some way.

Winner: Randy Orton by squash after an early RKO, after Rusev had attacked him during the Entrance. No one would have seriously bet on a Rusev victory here, but the fact that his defeat would be so quick makes the whole thing really sad.

Whether the good worker Rusev will be punished for something or you just want to show Orton strongly, is questionable. In case of doubt, you just had to save time in view of the crowded card. But after this result, the Bulgarians will not be able to win against the Vipers even in the further course of the feud.

Winner & new Raw Women’s Championesse: Sasha Banks per Banks Statement.A stiff match ended in Banks’ fourth Main Roster title win.The two ladies, who are truly bought out of their rivalry and personal animosities, will definitely continue their feud after this result even longer, which is the best case for Raw – all the more so since Bayley’s injury.

It is now important that, in addition to the strong performances of Banks and Bliss, the writers also deliver the writers and that the feud be fought with strong promos and matches for the corresponding intensity in the form of brutal backstage attacks or similar.added.However, the fact that the feud will continue is a great blessing for all fans of the women’s division.
