MLB: Royals manager wants to continue

Manager Ned Yost will probably stay with the Kansas City Royals. He made that clear himself on Saturday. The main reason for this is the young players.

“The 63-year-old asked on Friday:”Another year, maybe two.”Yost’s contract runs until the end of 2018.

It would be the ninth season for Yost in Kansas City. With the Royals he reached the World Series twice in a row and won the title in 2015 against the New York Mets.It was the first championship title for the Royals since 1985.

Yost wants to build a “stable foundation” before he leaves the Royals. With 624 victories, he has the most in the history of franchise.

“I’m not going to leave.I love this organization. And advancing these young players is easier for me than for anyone else.So yes, I want to be a part of it for a little longer.”
