As expected, Dwyane Wade and the Chicago Bulls agreed on a buyout before the start of the training camp.Wade already thanked the fans in Chicago. Now the Cavaliers seem to be the favourites for a commitment.
“A dream has come true for me!Thank you Chicago,” twittered Wade after the announcement of his buyout.By this he meant the opportunity to play for one year for his hometown in the NBA.
In order not to make the buyout for the franchise less expensive, Wade is said to have waived 8 million of his 23 million dollars. This $23 million came from a player option that Wade had signed with the Bulls before the season.
Now it probably won’t be that long before Wade finds a new team.According to ESPN, the Cleveland Cavaliers are considered a favorite for a commitment, also because of Wade’s close friendship with LeBron James. However, the Spurs, Heat and Thunder are also supposed to be serious candidates.
Wade explained:”I will now take a day or two to talk to the teams and players on my list. Then we’ll see.My decision will be a pure basketball decision.I’m going to go where I fit best this time of my career.”
