Golf: Schauffele wins US Tour Final, Thomas wins the Jackpot

Xander Schauffele (USA) was the first newcomer to win the US tour finale – but his fellow countryman Justin Thomas won the jackpot: The 24-year-old clinched second place in the Atlanta/Georgia tournament and took home an extra prize money of ten million US dollars for the FedEx title.

“Of course, as a professional, you definitely want to win the tournament, but then I realized what an incredible honour it is to win the overall standings,”said Thomas.He won five tournaments on the PGA Tour this year.Jordan Spieth (USA) came second with 660 points behind Schauffele.

Schauffele (23) won the US tour final with 268 strokes, just ahead of Thomas (269) and Russell Henley and Kevin Kisner (both USA/270).
