NFL: Giants boss criticizes Beckham for cheering

In the game against the Eagles, Odell Beckham brought back the Giants spectacularly, but his cheering almost made the headlines. The receiver made an unpleasant gesture after its first touchdown, now there was criticism from the very top.

Co-team owner John Mara publicly criticised his superstar in the NFL network on Tuesday:”I don’t want to start a big discussion. But I want to say that I’m very dissatisfied with Odell’s behaviour on Sunday. We’ll address this internally.”

Beckham had mimicked a dog while urinating after the first of two touchdowns in the Eagles final zone, then declaring:”I am a dog, so I behaved the same way,” but the Eagles eventually won thanks to a 61-yard field goal from Jake Elliott at 24:27.

On Monday, Giants coach Ben McAdoo did not want to comment on Beckham’s jubilation, but during a conference call, McAdoo said:”We should talk about the game we played, we had some great plays.I’d rather talk about that than the penalty for cheering. In the end, it’s quite simple: I don’t want to have to do the 20-yard line kick-off, that doesn’t help our team.”
