Golf: British Masters: Fritsch on tenth place – Kaymer is behind

Florian Fritsch takes tenth place at the half time of the British Masters in the English Newcastle.The Munich player played rounds with 66 and 68 strokes and is six strokes behind the leading Englishman Tyrrell Hatton.

Former world number one Martin Kaymer (Mettmann/137) needed three strokes more than Fritsch in 35th place.

On the other hand, Marcel Siem (Ratingen/139), Sebastian Heisele (Munich/141), Alexander Knappe (Paderborn) and Bernd Ritthammer (Nürnberg/both 144) failed the cut after two rounds of the 3.4 million Euro event.

The only German winner of the tournament held since 1972 was Bernhard Langer from Anhausen in 1980.
