NFL: Titans-Star: Death threats for hymn protest

Delanie Walker of the Tennessee Titans has stated that after his anthem protests before the game against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3 he received death threats.As the tight end on his instagram profile describes, the threats were also directed at his family.

“The racist and violent words addressed to me and my son are just another reminder that our nation is marked by hateful rhetoric,” said Walker in his post,”the hateful words only reinforce me in my efforts to visit different sections of the population, to listen to different opinions and to honour the men and women who risk their lives for this country every day, so that we can make a difference.

During the national anthem, both the Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks remained in the cabin.The Titans themselves then announced that they had received death threats on their social media sites.

The police have not yet responded to questions as to whether investigations into the threats are being carried out.
