BBL: Kick-off victories for Oldenburg and Berlin

Vice champion EWE Baskets Oldenburg and former series champion Alba Berlin have started the new Bundesliga season with victories.Oldenburg prevailed at BG Göttingen 93:85 (48:42) and the strongly rejuvenated Berlin team won somewhat surprisingly at ratiopharm Ulm with 72:68 (33:35).

The best thrower for Alba was Marius Grigonis with 20 points.Under the basket, Luke Sikma, the 28-year-old Alba player, collected ten rebounds.In Elm’s team of coach Thorsten Leibenath, who only lost two times in last season’s main round, Trey Lewis stood out with twelve points.

Oldenburg’s Bryon Allen was the decisive man in Göttingen with 30 points.The hosts were not satisfied with 22 points from Brion Rush.
