Boxing: Ferdinand about to go on a boxing trip:”Plan no career.”

The former English national soccer player Rio Ferdinand is expected to enter the boxing ring only once,”I’m not planning a career,”the 38-year-old told the BBC.Ferdinand, a long-standing central defender of Manchester United, announced in mid-September that he wanted to become a boxer.

“I want to see if I can get a license, become a pro and have a fight,”says Ferdinand, who finished his football career two years ago.

After the fight, he wants to see how he moves on.His plan is “no joke.Boxing is no joke.If I take it too lightly, I’ll get hurt.”

Ferdinand spent a lot of time boxing after his wife Rebecca Ellison died of breast cancer in May 2015.Ellison is the mother of Ferdinand’s three children.

“Without the gym, I wouldn’t know where I would have spent my time.The time when you don’t think about anything else or what happens to my life,”Ferdinand said.
