NFL: Seahawks roll over colts after a weak start

The Seattle Seahawks (2-2) had trouble with the aspiring Indianapolis Colts (1-3), but in the end they managed to win the match with ease.Guests from AFC South came to the Northwest USA with a clear plan on both sides of the ball, but two key situations after the break finally took the young team out of the sails.

The first half was undoubtedly owned by the guests, who were even able to convince defensively. They controlled Russell Wilson and even scored their first points through safety. However, the Seattle Defense also proved relentless and punished Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett’s only mistake before the break with an interception return touchdown by Cornerback Justin Coleman.

In addition to all that, Seattle kicker Blair Walsh also gave away a feasible field goal with a clock running out.

After the break, however, Wilson freed himself more and more and underscored this with a 23-yard touchdown run, which gave the Seahawks back the lead and acted as a signal for departure. From then on, only Seattle played and brought the game back to life.

Seattle Seahawks (2-2) – Indianapolis Colts (1-3)46:18 (3:2,7:13,22:3,14:0) BOXSCORE

In the beginning, the Colts had the upper hand here.Wilson was trapped in the pocket and obviously had problems with that. But he kept his nerves intact and made no big mistakes except for his first interception. After the break, however, he found one or two gaps and took advantage of them.He ended up taking three sacks, but played very efficiently (18/23,257 YDS) and was involved in two touchdowns (1 pass, 1 run).

The Colts were in the middle of the game, kept up with Seahawk’s favourite. Then they cashed in the 30-yard touchdown run of J. D.McKissic at the end of the third quarter.Quarter, which gave Seattle noticeable momentum and also awakened the audience. The Colts needed an answer, but instead the hoped-for statement drive was nipped in the bud.Worse still, the fumble of Brissett that Wagner carried into the end zone literally broke the guests’ necks.

The defensive end should be emphasized as a representative of the overall crushing Seahawks defense. Not only did he lead his team with 1 1/2 sacks, he also forced the fumble before the Wagner touchdown with a strip sack and opened the door to the decision.Marcus Smith II may be nominally only a backup, but that evening he was instrumental in the victory.

It is probably too hard to call Jacoby Brissett (16/29,157 YDS, TD, INT), the young QB of the Colts, a flop.He started out too well. But the bottom line was that his two turnovers kept the Seahawks on the line in the first half and pulled away in the second half. The NFL is a tough business and that night he felt it clearly.Every mistake will be punished against such a defense.
