NBA: Stevens praises Theis’ performance

Daniel Theis has made a strong debut for the Boston Celtics. The German international then immediately received a big praise from Head Coach Brad Stevens.

“He did a really good job,”Stevens said after the game.Theis had played 12 points (5/8 FG), 7 rebounds and 3 assists in 13 minutes of time,”He went to the basket quickly. That’s what we need.He rolled off well, had his hands on some balls and also had a tip-dunk.That’s what he does best.”

But the German did not dig under the basket. He also showed his qualities in pick-and-pop:”He really can throw the ball,” Stevens added,”He can handle open spaces and is very agile on his feet.

At the same time, Stevens also praised the former Bamberger’s learning process:”He had to adjust very much. Our young players played all the Summer League, he didn’t.Considering that, he did a real job today.”

I’ve been playing professional basketball for eight years now,”said Theis. On the one hand, this was new today, but on the other, it was not.I was just trying to enjoy the moment and play basketball.”

Theis will have the next chance to prove himself on Saturday. Then the Celtics will compete in the second pre-season game at the Philadelphia 76ers.
