Double bad news for the Seattle Seahawks: Running Back Chris Carson and Defensive End Cliff Avril will miss Seattle for several weeks.Carson’s early season is even looming.
Head coach Pete Carroll confirmed on Monday that Avril “will be missing for a while”.NFL network insider Ian Rapoport reported that Avril then felt some deafness in his arms.
A longer Avril’s failure could pose a serious problem for the Seahawks’ pass rush, and Open Senses should now focus more on Michael Bennett. This would give Avril’s backup Frank Clark a stronger focus and must show that he can use the resulting matchups for himself.
Chris Carson is probably much longer than Avril.According to Carroll, the Running Back suffered a fracture below the kneecap, at first the team had assumed an ankle injury.Carson was added to the Injured Reserve List on Monday. He will miss at least the next eight weeks, but according to reports the injury is tantamount to the end of the season.
This makes Seattle’s Backfield even more opaque since the beginning of the season. While Thomas Rawls just doesn’t get fit, Eddie Lacy could be the starter.Behind that, J. D.McKissic make a good recommendation against the Colts, C. J.Prosise remains the clear starter when it comes to the pass-catching role.
