NHL: First anthem protest in the NHL: Lightning striker Brown lifts his fist

Forward J. T.Brown of Tampa Bay Lightning was the first player in the NHL professional ice hockey league to join the hymn protest of American athletes.Brown (27) raised his right fist while playing the US national anthem before the Florida Panthers (4:5) played.

“I wanted to show my support,”said Brown, one of 30 black NHL players.

“I know there will be negative reactions. But in my heart I know it was right,”said Brown:”There are some things we need to talk about.Any form of communication would be good.”

In the NFL professional football league, players have been kneeling down since the beginning of the season because of racial discrimination and police violence in the USA.

After a twitter attack by US President Donald Trump (“firing or suspending!”) the protests had increased.
