Professional cyclist John Degenkolb is back in training after his hospital stay with heart and lung examinations. The 28-year-old will be back on his bike in two weeks’ time, said his American team Trek-Segafredo on Monday,”John is fortunately doing better, but of course we will be watching him closely in the coming months,”said team doctor Nino Daniele.
Degenkolb had broken off the tour of Denmark at the end of September with respiratory problems and had been admitted to a hospital for tests “After the stay in the clinic there was no time left to race this season. Now I’m looking forward to returning to training. 2017 didn’t run as I expected, but I’m ready for 2018,”said the native of Geraer.
Degenkolb had already left the Vuelta in Spain at an early stage in August, and it was said that he was suffering from bronchitis. After a short break, Wahl-Hesse had tried to get in shape in time for the road cycling World Championships in Bergen, but had to interrupt this venture after the cancellation of the tour through Denmark.
