DEL: Krefeld commits NHL forward Caron

The Krefeld Penguins have responded to the DEL’s weak start to the season by signing a contract with former NHL striker Jordan Caron. The 26-year-old, who was voted number 25 in the 2009 Boston Bruins Junior Draft, played 166 games in the world’s best ice hockey league in 2009, but in the past two years he has only played in the underclass AHL.

“We’re getting a great striker who’s already proven himself in the best league in the world.Jordan is a manoeuvrable player who’s on the right track and has a good shot,”said coach Rick Adduono:”He’s going to give our offensive more clout and he’s also responsible in his defensive behaviour.”

Krefeld is in twelfth place after a 3-5 home defeat against Iserlohn Roosters.Caron’s pledge is to compensate for the loss of strikers Dragan Umicevic, Justin Feser and Mike Mieszkowski. In order to realize the transfer, the club members provided additional funds.
