Lonzo Ball from the Los Angeles Lakers had to watch for the second time in a row injured with a sprained ankle in the preseason.Coach Luke Walton was nevertheless optimistic that the rookie could be there at the start of the season.
Walton refused to play ball again in his win over the Sacramento Kings (75:69) because the Point Guard had difficulty moving sideways.Probably the rookie will not be used in the preseason any more.
Ball’s status is currently on Day-to-Day, but Walton was optimistic that the Lakers’ new number 2 will be fit to start the season against the Clippers,”I expect he’ll be back.”
At the same time, the coach hopes that Ball will be able to intervene again in the preseason. But we don’t want to force things to happen:”It’s different for every player. He’s new to the team, and we need to see how he responds to injuries. We will certainly not rush into anything.”
Ball was drawn in second place in Draft 2017.The former UCLA Guard has played two preseason games so far.He played 6.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6 assists in 28.5 minutes on average.
