NBA: Rondo probably needs surgery

Rajon Rondo will be absent from the New Orleans Pelicans for several weeks.The guard has to be operated on the groin and is now absent for up to six weeks.

That’s what Shams Charania from The Vertical says.Rondo visited a specialist in Philadelphia on Monday to confirm that the build-up player needs to be operated on.In the game against Oklahoma City Thunder, he had contracted the injury.

Rondo was planned as starting point guard of the Pelicans, Jrue Holiday was supposed to move up to the two.These plans have to be thrown overboard for the time being.

The ex-celtics champion signed for a season in New Orleans this summer.At the Chicago Bulls, Rondo played 69 games with 7.8 points, 6.7 assists and 5.1 rebounds.
