MLB: Red Sox part with Farrell

John Farrell will not return as coach of the Boston Red Sox for the 2018 season.President Dave Dombrowski announced on Wednesday that the search for a successor for the 55-year-old would begin immediately.

Farrell completed his fifth season as Red Sox coach this year and led the team to a 93:69 statistic, making him the ninth American League title.He was the only coach to lead Boston to two divisional titles in a row.

In his first season, he led the Red Sox to the eighth World Series success and was named American League Manager of the Year.

Recently, Farrell and the Red Sox failed 3:1 in the Division Series of the MLB Playoffs at the Houston Astros.
