DEL: Next NHL player: Eagles engage Desjardins

The Adler Mannheim from the DEL have signed the next NHL player.The seven-time German champion announced the transfer of Canadian striker Andrew Desjardins on Thursday.The 31-year-old, who was under contract with the Chicago Blackhawks until July in the North American professional league NHL, joins the eagles until the end of the current season.

Desjardins played a total of 461 NHL games for Chicago and the San Jose Sharks.With the Blackhawks, the Center won the Stanley Cup in 2015.Mannheim had already caused a sensation on Wednesday with the engagement of NHL-experienced defender Mark Stuart.

“We are happy that Andrew has chosen us despite a number of other offers,”said Adler manager Teal Fowler:”He has a lot of experience and knows that you have to work hard every day because of his time in the NHL.Andrew is a two-way player who’s physically strong, giving us extra stability.”
