NBA: Carlise: Nowitzki’s uptime is a dilemma.

Head coach Rick Carlisle of the Dallas Mavericks has talked about Dirk Nowitzki’s deployment time in the upcoming NBA season.Basically, he would like to push the minutes of the German further down. But there is a very practical problem.

26.4 minutes per game in the 2016/17 season, Nowitzki was used. The future Hall of Famer, however, is now 39 and enters its 20th year.Season in the best basketball league in the world.

To push his minutes into the mid-twenties sounds good,”said Dallas Morning News, quoting the coach.

But:”There is a dilemma if you want to name an exact number,”says Carlisle. If you further reduce Nowitzki’s deployment time,”he will sit on the bench for longer periods of time in the game – and then get back on his feet is a big challenge.”

We’ll see,”Nowitzki could break the 30-minute barrier in some games -” but not every night.”
