On Tuesday, LeBron James had just made his preseason debut against the Chicago Bulls, and on Wednesday the Cavaliers announced that he had to be suspended again.
James was unable to participate in Wednesday’s practice session and even for Friday’s match against Orlando, the superstar is out of the game, as coach Tyronn Lue explained.James is having trouble with his left ankle.Lue is also “not sure”whether James will be fit for the first match of the season next Tuesday against Celtics.
“He’s been treated all day, so we don’t know if we need to worry,”said Lue,”but today the ankle was pretty sore, so we’ll have to wait and see.”
James has never missed an opening match in 14 NBA years.In the preseason, however, he contracted an ankle sprain early on and missed almost two weeks.The new setback didn’t go down too well:”He’s pretty pissed off, pretty pissed off,”said Lue.”But we can’t change it.”
The Cavaliers play their first match of the new Regular Season on Wednesday night, the Celtics and the ex-cavalier Kyrie Irving (live on DAZN) will be playing there this summer.Lue announced that in the meantime, J. R.Smith instead of James.
