NBA: Grizzlies: Allens and Z-Bos number retired?

Tony Allen left the Memphis Grizzlies this summer after seven years. Now the franchise thinks about not assigning his jersey number any more. The same applies to Zach Randolph.

“Tony has always been a major driver during our series of seven consecutive playoffs. He will always be a beloved member of our community,”says owner Robert Pera,”Tony has always played with an intensity that is second to none.”He’s a major contributor to Grizzlies’ reputation as a hard-working franchise.”

All of them are considered elite defenders, who have always defined their game through hard work and defense. He embodied the git and grind mentality like no other.

Since not only Allen, who is drawn to New Orleans, but also Zach Randolph (Sacramento Kings) leaves the grizzlies, this era seems to be coming to an end.Randolph’s number is also retired, as Pera suggested in another statement regarding Allens:”We are proud that number 9 of the’ Grindfathers’ will one day hang under the hall ceiling – next to the jersey of Z-Bo.”
