Ski Alpin: Hirscher wants to wait “until the knuckle of pork gets better again”.

On Friday, Marcel Hirscher gave a moderate all-clear on the fringe of the clothing presentation of the ÖSV athletes in Salzburg with regard to his damaged ankle.

“It was already clear that this would hurt,”said the 28-year-old after having been on skis for the first time since his injury in August. However, the roadmap for the comeback remains unchanged.

On Friday, Hirscher said he was “medium”:”It’s a new attraction that is deliberately set in order to get used to the attraction again at some point in time,” explained the Salzburg man after he had ventured back on snow on Wednesday for the first time.

Hirscher had made a name for himself at the first snow training on 17.A stupid mistake,”he commented on his lapse, which caused him to miss the start of the 2017/18 World Cup winter season. The six-time overall World Cup winner wants to make his comeback in November.Ideally, Hirscher will already be waving between the poles in the middle of next month at the slalom in Levi, Finland. However, he cannot say at the moment whether this will actually happen.

In principle, the situation is not unusual in his profession:”I’m not the only one who’s probably just trying to get into the ski boot, or I’m not the only one who can’t drive the training workload that you can imagine,” Hirscher said,”It’s simply new for me to have to deal with it.

In the near future, he will “do nothing”, said the winter sportsman,”until I feel like I can accelerate again.Every day, wait and see what happens until the pork knuckle gets better:” Painkillers are not an issue for him, he affirms,”It doesn’t work. You can forget about that.”
