NHL: Oilers lose without Draisaitl – Kühnhackl with Assist

The Edmonton Oilers have won their third consecutive defeat in the NHL without German international Leon Draisaitl. The Canadians, who started the season with great ambitions and a win, lost to the Ottawa Senators 1:6.

Draisaitl missed the game because of an injury he had suffered 2-5 against the Winnipeg Jets.According to coach Todd McLellan, the 21-year-old suffers from symptoms similar to those of a concussion.Up to now, only an eye injury had been known in Draisaitl. The downtime of the center is therefore uncertain.

Adam Larsson had led the hosts on presentation of the youngster Connor McDavid, but Kyle Turris, Mike Hoffman (both 2), Chris Wideman and Derick Brassard shot out the Senators’ clear success. After only one win in four games, Edmonton is trapped in the Western Conference standings.

Draisaitt’s national team mate Tom Kühnhackl contributed an assistant to the 4-3 draw of his Pittsburgh Penguins against the Florida Panthers.Superstar Sidney Crosby met twice.National goalkeeper Thomas Greiss also celebrated a victory with the New York Islanders at the San Jose Sharks (3-1).

On the other hand, striker Tobias Rieder with the Arizona Coyotes and goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer with the Washington Capitals had a day to forget.Arizona lost 2-8 to Boston Bruins, while Grubauer conceded eight goals in the Philadelphia Flyers 2-8.
