Colin Kaepernick has filed a complaint against the team owners of the NFL.Kaepernick accuses the owners of having agreed among themselves not to sign the quarterback.Kaepernick’s complaint does not fall back on the players’ association, but is represented by star lawyer Mark Geragos.
The official letter of complaint states that the team owners have agreed to deprive Kaepernick of his employment rights for the commitment to equality and social justice.
The 29-year-old caused a sensation last season when he was the first player to kneel in football stadiums during the national anthem to point out the injustice of American society.
Kaepernick has been looking for a new team since the end of last season when he decided to terminate the contract with the San Francisco 49ers.Prior to the current season, Kaepernick has been under discussion with many teams, including Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens, who are said to have been interested in a commitment. The Tennessee Titans appeared to be a potential employer for Kaepernick due to the injury of quarterback Marcus Mariota.
In the meantime, many other pros from different teams have been encouraged to protest during the national anthem, which has brought them great malice from US President Donald Trump, among others.
