NBA: Zipser wants to take over leading role in Chicago

Paul Zipser wants to take on more responsibility at the Chicago Bulls for the start of the NBA’s season:”I will have a role to lead.I am not the team’s leader now, but I can and will do my part to help carry it along,”the 23-year-old told the Rhein-Neckar Zeitung.Zipser is facing his second season in the USA.

In the pre-season, Zipser had already played 50 rookie games for the Bulls,”Last year I wanted to be a part of the team, wait for my chance and take advantage of it.Now I know I have a place in the team and I want to take on responsibility,”said Zipser before the NBA kick-off at the Toronto Raptors on Friday night.

However, it is out of the question for Spišer to comment critically on the policy of US President Donald Trump, like other stars of his sport.

“I think it’s dangerous when politics and sport are so closely interwoven,” said the ex-professional of Bayern Munich:”I’m not a fan of Donald Trump myself, but I’m not going to protest and kneel down, for example, at the national anthem.

Zipser is one of five Germans in the best basketball league in the world.Superstar Dirk Nowitzki receives support from Rookie Maximilian Kleber for the new season at the Dallas Mavericks. Then there are Dennis Schröder (Atlanta Hawks) and the second newcomer Daniel Theis, who changed from the German champion Brose Bamberg to record champion Boston Celtics.
