Basketball has taken third place among the sports with the greatest growth potential in a survey conducted by Stadionwelt magazine.Only soccer (91.0 percent) and biathlon (73.5) performed better than basketball (66.0).In the “Sportarten-Check” in 2016, it was only sixth (63.2).

A total of 20 decision-makers from the “Marketing”,”Sponsoring”,”Media” and “Other” areas were invited to evaluate 20 sports or disciplines.Of these, seven see the potential of basketball as increasing and twelve of them see a constant potential for basketball.
Participants should evaluate the potential of the respective sport in four categories on a scale of 1-10.The percentages indicate the percentage of the maximum score that can be achieved.The survey included Infront Germany, ARD, SID, Sport1, the Verband Deutscher Sportjournalisten (VDS), Allianz and Deloitte.
