MLB: Statue of Mariner’s legend damaged

The statue of Ken Griffey Jr.in front of the Safeco Field in Seattle has been damaged.A felon stole the bat from the character.But the police have already found him.

ESPN reports that a suspect who has already been taken into custody stole the racket on Tuesday at 5 p. m. local time, as the police reported.

The man was accused of deliberate damage to foreign property, which is a serious crime.

The statue was erected in April and shows the follow-through of the famous swing of Griffey Jr., who beat 630 homeruns in his 22 years in the MLB and has meanwhile been accepted into the Hall of Fame.

Griffey Jr.was the first Pick overall in the Draft in 1987 and most of his career was dedicated to the Mariners.
