NBA: Nets: Season out for Jeremy Lin

The Brooklyn Nets have to swallow a bitter pill: Point Guard Jeremy Lin is likely to miss the entire season. He sustained a knee injury at the season opener.

This was confirmed by the franchise on Thursday. Accordingly, in the fourth quarter of the opening match of his Nets against the Pacers, Lin tore the patella tendon in his right knee.

“Jeremy worked incredibly hard during the off-season and was looking forward to the coming season. It feels terrible for us that he will miss the whole season now. Now the whole organization will be there for him during the healing process,”said General Manager Sean Marks in a statement.

The Point Guard contract runs until 2019 (up to $12.5 million per year), with the last contract year including a player option. In the past season he had played 14.5 points and 5.1 assists.
