Handball: Next neck strike threatens: foxes on zebra hunt

Eliminated in the cup on Wednesday in Hanover, the German Bundesliga season kick-off with four defeats and eighth place completely in the sand: In this situation of all things THW Kiel has to go to the high-flyers Foxes Berlin (14 o’ clock in the LIVETICKER).

“The Max-Schmeling-Halle was often a good place for us. We like the hall, and our fans have often almost made a home game out of the foxes’ match,”said THW runner-up Toft Hansen.

It is not entirely clear where the 32-year-old’s optimism comes from, given the THW’s performances so far this season. The team have been extremely disappointed so far, coach Alfred Gislason is not uncontroversial despite the support they have received from the leaders.

The atmosphere here is not so good, which can be an advantage for us,”said captain Petr Stochl, explaining that Kiel is not the favourite.

The Berliners are bursting with self-confidence. Coach Velimir Petkovic’s team has won eight of its nine HBL games and is in second place with the leader Rhein-Neckar Löwen.
