NBA: Cavs survive next Giannis show

Despite Giannis Antetokounmpo’s next strong performance, the Milwaukee lost to Cleveland Cavaliers. The Dallas Mavericks are also going broke at home. The Golden State Warriors are turning their game in New Orleans and Lonzo Ball shines for the first time for the Los Angeles Lakers.

In the third quarter, the Cavs let the muscles play and decided a previously balanced match. Kyle Korver (17 points, 5/6 threesomes), against Boston without attempting to throw, scuttled three distance throws in a row and played a big part in the 15:5 run of the guests towards the end of the section. Cleveland went into the last 12 minutes with a lead of 13 points and didn’t let anything burn.

Before that, the cavs searched for the one in the zone and scored there at will. With 64:50 this duel went to the East-Champion, whereas Jae Crowder (14) showed up again and again under the basket. Kevin Love scored a good double-double (17 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists) and LeBron James (24 points. 10/16 FG, 8 assists) as usual. Derrick Rose scored 12 points, while Dwyane Wade (4 points, 2/7 FG) played a minor role. In addition, the guests did not give themselves any nakedness in 17 attempts from the free-throw line.

At Milwaukee an old acquaintance – Giannis Antetokounmpo. After his gala in Boston, the Cavs also had no answer for the Greek, who again played strong 34 points (15/22 FG), 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals. In the end, however, he was lacking in support. In the final section, the Bucks only scuttled five of 18 throws if the sender was not called Antetokounmpo.

In addition to the franchise player, only the current Rookie of the Year, Malcom Brogdon (16), scored double-digit points. Khris Middleton, otherwise known as a reliable option, shot only tickets (0/5 threesome) from outside and finished the game with 8 points. Too little came from the bank, too. The Cavs were able to win the bank duel with 45:23. This is rarely the case with cavs.

Thanks to another strong Dennis Schröder (25 points, 11/21 FG, 5 assists) the Hawks were already ahead in the second quarter with 20 points, but after the break the Budenholzer team experienced a violent slump. Charlotte won the second half with 60:35. I couldn’t do anything with Atlanta. Apart from Schröder, no Hawks player was able to score (8/36 FG) and Kent Bazemore (11) was not too worried about “these are just growth pains”.

But Bud’s stomach must have caused the reserve guards. Marco Belinelli (1/10 FG) and Malcom Delaney (1/6 FG) produced a lot of bricks. But even the bigs didn’t make a good impression. Charlotte snatched 57 rebounds (Atlanta: 38). This also meant that the Hornets did not always deal with the ball with great care (21 turnovers).

Dwight Howard scored 20 points and 15 rebounds, but lost 6 times against his former team. Nevertheless, if D12 was on the field, the Hawks had no answer to his physical condition. But Charlotte’s top scorer was once again Kemba Walker, who caught fire early in the first quarter with three threesomes and ended up with 26 points (6/13 FG, 10/12 FT) and 9 assists.

Frank Kaminsky also drew attention to himself from the bank. The Big Man scored 21 points (7/14 FG) and took 6 rebounds. In Rookie Malik Monk, on the other hand, there was not much that wanted to work. At least the shooting guard scored two of his five threes for 6 points, but in 18 minutes he did another 3 turnovers.

After scoring 140 points against Brooklyn, the young Pacers were held back in Portland’s second home game. However, Indiana also had to do without Center Myles Turner. Portland’s guards increasingly sought their way into the Zone and were extremely successful.

Damian Lillard quickly used this for 10 points (5/7 FG) in the first quarter, after which the playmaker cooled down noticeably and only brought seven more points to the scoreboard. But since his partner C. J. McCollum was allowed to play again after his suspension, this did not matter. The Shooting Guard was the Blazers’ top scorer with 28 points (12/18 FG) and could not be stopped,”These two guards are among the most difficult match-ups in the league,”Pacers coach Nate McMillan moaned after the match.

But even in the offense, Indiana could not resist. Victor Oladipo needed just as many throws for his 17 points and Sixth Man Lance Stephenson (4 points, 1/5 FG) was disappointed “I usually hit them. In the preseason the litters are still down. I can’t let it hang over my head now,”Born Ready said on the record. But there was a bright spot for Indiana. Rookie TJ Leaf did a good job as Power Forward and scored 17 points (7/11 FG).

For another rookie, things didn’t go so well. At Portland, No. 10-Pick gave Zach Zach Collins a pass, but in seven minutes he didn’t score any points on the scoreboard (0/4 FG). No. 26-Pick Caleb Swanigan had the same statline, but scored two free throws. Strong for Portland were Al-Farouq Aminu (16 points, 16 rebounds) and Evan Turner (17), who shone as microwave coming from the bank.
