World champion Johannes Rydzek (SC Oberstdorf) has successfully defended his German championship title in the Nordic combined. The 25-year-old won in Klingenthal after a jump from the Grossschanze and ten kilometres on roller skis, clearly ahead of overall World Cup winner Eric Frenzel (SSV Geyer) and Tobias Simon (SZ Breitnau).

Rydzek has already won the highest individual national title in 2010,2011,2013,2014,2015 and 2016. On Sunday the competition in the team sprint is still scheduled.
