NBA: Media: Pelicans get Nelson

The New Orleans Pelicans have found a replacement for the injured Rajon Rondo. According to consistent media reports, Jameer Nelson will join the Louisiana franchise.

Adrian Wojnarowski (ESPN) and Shams Charania (The Vertical) report that Nelson has reached an agreement with the Pelicans. Previously, there were rumours that contenders such as the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Houston Rockets had also expressed their interest in the Point Guard.

For Nelson it was crucial that he could play in New Orleans for many minutes and bring in his leadership qualities. The pels still have a full roster with 15 players. According to Woj Shooting Guard, Jordan Crawford will be fired.

Last season, Nelson played with the Denver Nuggets. The veteran started there in 39 out of 75 games. In an average of 27 minutes, the 35-year-old hung up 9.2 points and 5.1 assists.
