NBA: Hartenstein enters the G-League

Isaiah Hartenstein will be playing in the G-League this season for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Houston Rockets farm team. The German national player appeared on the players list for the Vipers’ training camp.

Hartenstein was awarded 43rd place in the draft of 2017. However, the second place selected by the rockets could not be recommended for a place in the Summer League. Hartenstein was also absent from the training camp and during the Rockets’ preseason.

Instead, the 19-year-old will now play for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, for which Tim Ohlbrecht also played in the past. Hartenstein will sign a G-League contract, whereby the rockets will not lose the rights to the native plant of Artland Dragons.

Abdel Nader, who is in the roster of the Boston Celtics this year and played for Maine Red Claws in the then D-League the year before, took a similar path to that of the German last year.

The new season of the G-League starts on the 3rd day. November.
