Handball: Foxes Berlin long without Plaza Jimenez

The foxes of Berlin have to forego the circle runner Ignacio Plaza Jimenez for a long time. The 23-year-old Spaniard suffered a torn cruciate ligament on Saturday in the league match against THW Kiel (25:25). This was announced by the association on Tuesday.

The doctors in the leader of the standings expect a failure of up to five months. Plaza Jimenez is to be operated on as soon as possible.

“Of course, that’s a pity,”said Foxes Managing Director Bob Hanning:”Nacho was just on the right track. He’s also stabilized in the defence in recent months. That hurts twice as much and is of course bitter.”

Plaza Jimenez came to the foxes from Puerto Sagunto in 2015. His contract runs until 2018.
