The Los Angeles Dodgers beat Houston Astros 3-1 in World Series game 1 behind a brilliant performance of superstar pitcher Clayton Kershaw. Alongside Kershaw, Justin Turner was once again the decisive man, beating a home run against Dallas Keuchel.
The Dodgers got off to a perfect start and took the lead with their first swing in the game, chris Taylor’s home run. Clayton Kershaw dominated from the start, but then made a mistake, which Alex Bregman also punished with a home run.
However, Kershaw did not let himself be misled and then consistently rejected the guests’ offensive. His opponent, Dallas Keuchel, did not show any negative effects after the lead-off-homer and then maneuvered his team well through the game. Only in the sixth inning he got into trouble again and was punished for a 2-Out-Walk by RBI-machine Justin Turner with a 2-Run-Homerun.
Kershaw surpassed seven innings and then relied on a strong bullpen to bring the match through without any problems.

The Dodger superstar always had a reputation for not getting his top performance in the postseason. However, the left-handed player’s reputation was confidently blotted out in his first World Series game. In seven dominant innings, Kershaw gave another homerun – a solo shot of Alex Bregman in the fourth inning – and allowed at least one long ball in every start of this postseason. But apart from that, Kershaw was brilliant: In seven innings, he admitted three hits and collected eleven strikeouts. This makes him the first Dodgers pitcher with at least ten strikeouts since Sandy Koufax in the’ 60s.
The Center Fielder of the Astros was certainly not the only weak hitter of the Astros, but as lead-off hitter it is his job to get the offense going. Instead, he was 0-3 with three strikes against Kershaw. So the line-up was pulled out early on and Jumper’s appearance was one of the reasons for this.
