MLB: World Series: Los Angeles Dodgers renounce Curtis Granderson

Before the start of the World Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers provided a surprise surprise at the cadre announcement for the series against the Houston Astros. They let the experienced outfielder Curtis Granderson, who was still in the NLCS, out.

As expected, Corey Seager returned to the National League Champion line-up after overcoming back problems and was part of the starting lineup again. Moreover, the Shortstop was the only player in Game 1 to have two hits (2-3). Alongside him, right-hander Brandon McCarthy was also added to the squad compared to the NLCS against the Chicago Cubs.

Meanwhile, outfielder Curtis Granderson and backup catcher Kyle Farmer suffered from these two additions to the squad. For Granderson, it would have been the third World Series participation. He had only arrived in Los Angeles in August via trade from the New York Mets.

In addition to Seager’s return, he was also saddened by the fact that Andre Ethier, the longest-serving Dodgers player, has also been fit for some time, as Granderson strikes from the left and is active in the outfield.

Farmer, on the other hand, was only the third catcher after Austin Barnes and Yasmani Grandal and became obsolete after manager Dave Roberts announced that Seager might be using him as a designated hitter in the three games in Houston and not Barnes or Grandal. This in turn necessitated a further nomination of Shortstop Charlie Culberson, who had already represented Seager in the NLCS.
