JuJu Smith-Schuster, a rookie receiver from the Pittsburgh Steelers, can finally sleep peacefully again. Mount Oliver, a suburb of Pittsburgh, returned the 20-year-old’s beloved bicycle, which had been stolen a few days earlier.
“People told me that the story was even on the news and they were looking for my bike,”said Smith-Schuster. On Twitter many fans searched under the hash tag #TeamFindJuJusBike, even Smith-Schuster’s “Fahrrad” (“Bicycle”) even called @JuJusBike.
According to police, a man returned the bike after buying it on the black market for 200 US dollars. He also provided a detailed description of the seller, on the basis of which the police now try to provide the thief.
Smith-Schuster uses his bike every day to commute from his apartment to the Steelers’ training facilities. He does not have a driving licence, as he always drove into the lectures by car pooling at the university.
The California man claims he won’t press charges against the thief. Originally, Smith-Schuster had jokingly suspected some of his team-mates. Now that he and his bike are reunited, the Wide Receiver will finally have quieter nights ahead of him. And he plans to act much more cautiously next time.
