Basketball: Bamberg wins former NBA champion Wright

Brose Bamberg has signed the former NBA champion Dorell Wright. The U. S. forward, who won the title with Miami Heat in his home country in 2006, comes from Bosnian first division club BC Igokea and will receive a contract until the end of the season.

Wright (31) is to replace the injured German international Elias Harris.

“With Dorell Wright, we get a player with enormous experience and a distinctive basketball IQ. In addition, he has a high scorer quality and mentality. We are sure that he will help us quickly in the current situation,”said Bamberg’s sports director Ginas Rutkauskas.

Wright has played in the NBA for Miami, the Golden State Warriors, the Philadelphia 76ers and the Portland Trail Blazers, including Play-offs 569 games. Harris (28) is threatened with surgery on his right knee.
