BBL: Bavaria take the lead in the standings

Former champion Bayern Munich has taken the lead in the Bundesliga basketball league from Alba Berlin. The Bayern defeated the Frankfurt Skylins 72:60 (29:32) in the top match and are now level on points with the Albatrosses (12), who will be playing at Meister Brose Bamberg on Sunday.

Pursuer S. Oliver Würzburg (10) was defeated by Vice Champion Oldenburg 84:86 (41:35).

Ratiopharm Ulm gains momentum after a weak start to the season. Playmaker Per Günther’s team won 85:77 (42:41) against the polar bears Bremerhaven. Göttingen won 89:84 (44:40) at the Central German BC and celebrated the first away win of the season.

In Munich, Jared Cunningham scored 23 points in front of 5831 spectators. For coach Aleksandar Djordjevic’s team it was the fifth BBL victory of the season after winning the Eurocup on Wednesday in Jerusalem.

Led by national player Robin Benzing, Würzburg convinced in the first three quarters with a closed team performance, but in the last quarter (18:33) he lost the victory.
